Identity in Christ: Believe Series

This past Sunday we continued our Sermon Series on Believe.

Chapter 5:  Identity in Christ
Key Question:  Who am I?
Key Idea:  I believe I am significant because I am a child of God.
Key Verse:  Some people did accept him and did believe in his name.  He gave them the right to become children of God.  John 1:12

I love how this ties in with this year's MOPS theme "Be You Bravely".  I have been enjoying pinning some of my thoughts on this for some time.  I love talking with my kids about how God made each of us unique.  We continue to grow in our understanding of what it means to embrace our own and other's uniqueness and work to encourage each other to be who God has uniquely created us to be.  It is my prayer that all my kids will find their identity in Christ -- there are so many other things to believe shape us but when our accomplishments, activities, and passions flow from our identity in Christ it makes such a difference.

The Bible: Believe Series

"God's work of Hope for all of creation for for all of us."   Continuing the Believe series.

So many things shape our lives -- scouts, soccer, celebrations and worship.  I so so thankful for God's scripture -- and the Word become flesh.  Loved Billy Jack in our message today sharing how God's word and Christ are both Divine and Human.

Salvation: Believe Series

This past Sunday we continued our Sermon Series on Believe.

Chapter 3:  Salvation
Key Question:  How do I have a relationship with God?
Key Idea:  I believe a person can have a relationship with God by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Key Verse:  God's grace has saved you because of your faith in Christ.   Ephesians 2:8

My favorite book for talking with my kids about salvation is Max Lucado's God's Great Big Love For Me.  My youngest made a chain talking about "The Big God Story" using the colors green (God's good creation), black (sin and our broken world), red (Christ's blood necessary to bring us back into relationship with God), white (restored relationship with God) and yellow (being in constant relationship with God now and for all eternity).

Personal God: Believe Series

Our Sermon Series on Believe continued this week.

Chapter 1:  Personal God
Key Question:  Does God care about me?
Key Idea:  I believe God is involved in and cares about my daily life.
Key Verse:  My help comes from the Lord. He is the Maker of heaven and earth.  Psalm 121:2

My kids enjoyed looking at Jesus as the Good Shepherd and reviewing the 23rd Psalm.
